God made man upright, Ecclesiastes 7:29.  To be upright is to have integrity, to be straight, perfect and righteous.  In the movie Shane (1953), the hero encourages a young man to be “strong and straight” in his life:

…when it seems nobody is looking.  God is always present (“omni-present”).  Proverbs 15:3 says, “The eyes of the LORD are everywhere, keeping watch on the wicked and the good.”

How can you be right before God?

Originally, God made man upright (Ecclesiastes 7:29).  But the first Adam sinned before God, making it so that man was no longer upright, straight and righteous, but sinfully crooked.  Sin separates man from God.  The Second Adam, Jesus, lived a perfect, upright, righteous life.  When you ask Jesus to be your savior from sin, you become right before God because Jesus becomes your righteousness (1 Corinthians 1:30).

Through Jesus’ righteousness, you become right before God:  the Second Adam, Jesus makes saved people upright again, restoring the broken relationship.

To be right before God, you must “confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead” Romans 10:9.  Call upon Him today.

By relying on the righteousness and strength of Jesus, we are able to live moral lives that demonstrate an inward motivation to do what is biblically right regardless of the cost.
